City of Brownsville to Host First Dose Covid-19 Vaccination Clinic This Friday


Pre-registration online portal will be activated tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (April 7, 2021) — The City of Brownsville has partnered with the State of Texas, Cameron County, the Brownsville Independent School District (BISD), Texas Southmost College (TSC), and the South Texas Independent School District (STISD) to host a city-led vaccination clinic on Friday, April 9th at the Texas Southmost College ITEC Center located at 301 Mexico Blvd., Brownsville 78520 starting at 8:00 a.m.

This vaccination clinic is aimed for individuals 18 years of age and above. Two thousand five hundred (2,500) Moderna first-dose vaccines will be made available by Cameron County Public Health. Pre-registration is required online at btxcares.com. To pre-register, individuals must fill out the form which will be activated on Thursday, April 8th at 9:00 a.m. and will deactivate as soon as capacity is reached.
Individuals who do not have internet access may call the City of Brownsville COVID-19 Hotline at (956) 394-0012 for assistance with registration starting at 8:00 a.m.

No walk-ins will be allowed at the vaccination clinic. Individuals receiving a vaccine must have pre-registered and must have received a confirmation notice prior to the event with an appointment time. There will be no need to arrive early or make a line. Individuals must present a valid photo ID, wear a face mask and always remain in their vehicles. The vaccination clinic will be a drive-thru format featuring 30 lanes for vehicles and 15 vaccination stations. The public is strongly encouraged to download and complete the consent and IMMTrac forms ahead of time to expedite this process. This event is rain or shine.

The City of Brownsville was notified on February 1, 2021 by the Department of State Health Services as an approved provider of the COVID-19 vaccine. As an approved COVID-19 vaccine provider, the City will have more direct access to vaccines and vaccination clinics. This vaccination clinic will be the sixth for the City since their designation as an approved COVID-19 vaccine provider.
