2020 was an unprecedented and challenging year for all, but the City of Brownsville proved to be stronger than ever.
On April 17, 2021, Mayor Trey Mendez broadcasted his State of the City address to residents and the theme was BTX Strong, a hashtag he and the community coined across social media during the pandemic.
In the address, Mayor Mendez highlights several accomplishments across the city, such as the creation of NewSpace Brownsville, an innovative COVID-19 response, economic and retail development, and more.
Mayor Trey Mendez also announces several initiatives and projects to look forward to in the year to come.
